Retailers, both in-store and online, are bringing their “A” game for the infamous post Thanksgiving event, aka Black Friday.

I feel indifferent about Black Friday. As a consumer, I feel the need to join in on the madness but stepping back (knowing the tricks of the marketing industry) I wonder if it’s just another hype everyone keeps falling into…

The massive amount of information pushed through every channel within the days building up to Friday is impressive. Black Friday has branched off to produce terms such as “Cyber Monday,” “Pre-Black Friday,” and even “Midnight Madness.” It’s great to see e-commerce channels such as Amazon spice up the competition and play off the “not having to wait in line”-advantage. Another plus of Black Friday is watching Target’s Christmas Champ do her thing (very intensely)!
